Psychic seeks message from Steve Irwin

TERRI Irwin says she is "open" to receiving a message from the spirit of her late husband, Croc Hunter Steve, when an American psychic medium visits Australia Zoo next month.

Mrs Irwin, 43, told The Sunday Mail yesterday she sensed Steve was still with her and had "great faith" that his spirit was still around.

International medium John Edward, who rose to international stardom with his television show Crossing Over, will appear in the Sunshine Coast zoo's Crocoseum on January 5 as part of a summer entertainment program.

Edward claims to use his abilities to connect people with their loved ones who have passed away.

Mrs Irwin said Steve had been a personal friend of Edward for years.

She said it was on his first visit to Australia Zoo, about five years ago, that the psychic medium realised his ability to communicate with animals, a story Mrs Irwin has written about in her recently released book My Steve.

"He's a fair-dinkum bloke. It's been a real privilege to know him," she said of Edward.

"He loves Australia and he's been such a supporter of our family and good friend since we lost Steve.

"I've invited everyone who's a sceptic (to the show on January 5), because you can't leave after seeing what John does without having some appreciation for his work.

"He gives them peace of mind. He has a real gift."

Mrs Irwin said her Christian upbringing meant she had "great faith that once a person dies their spirit is still around".

"I know (Steve's) gone but in some way he is still here. I feel him, I sense him," she said. "And I think that's very nice and comforting.

"Everyone who comes to Australia Zoo also has that sense and it's not creepy . . . it's comforting.

"If Steve had a message for me I would be open to it and if he has a message for all of us, then January 5 (during Edward's show) would be very good for it."

Mrs Irwin said the Summer Down Under program was Edward's idea and aimed to promote animal conservation issues to a broader audience by appealing to people through several performers.

Steve's best mate Wes Mannion has also spoken of a deep connection he still has with Steve.

Mr Mannion said in August he feels Steve is still with him.

"It's just so strong," he said. You make a decision and you just feel someone is there. It's not a weird thing like a pat on the shoulder and a whisper in your ear.

"You just feel them there and you feel as if you're two people rather than one."

Australian Idol pop singer Dean Geyer kicked off the series yesterday with a performance in the Crocoseum, a stadium that Steve designed and built for his live croc feeding shows.

The Crocoseum seats 5000 people and tickets for the John Edward show there cost $90 for adults.

Pop sisters The Veronicas, John Williamson, Steady Eddie, Tripod and Bindi and the Crocmen will also perform in coming weeks.

All Hallow's Eve cakes are easy to make and are a great alternative way to remember loved ones who have passed over at All Hallow's Eve. They also make a great alternative to sweets and chocolates for trick-or-treating. Here's the recipe and the ritual.

GATHER

½ cup (120 millilitres) vegetable oil
112 grms unsweetened baking chocolate (melted)
400 grms granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tspns vanilla extract
280 grams sifted plain flour
2 tspns baking powder
½ tspn salt
228 grams icing sugar (confectioners’ sugar)

Makes about 24-30 cakes.

RITUAL

Bless all your ingredients, utensils and equipment before you begin.

As you mix your ingredients you may wish to think of all your loved ones who have passed over and send them your love. Imbue your cakes with visualisations of happy times shared together.

Mix together the vegetable oil, chocolate and sugar in a large bowl.

Blend in the eggs, one at a time stirring between each addition. Add and mix in the vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix the sifted flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the oil mixture and allow to stand for at least 4 hours (or overnight).

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball. Coat each ball in confectioners’ sugar, rolling until covered.

Place the balls about 5 centimetres apart on a greased or baking paper lined baking sheet. As you place the baking sheets in the oven – bless your creation and ask for these offerings to be seen by your loved ones in Spirit.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.

The cakes should be soft and the edges firm. Be careful not to overcook the cakes as they burn easily. Makes about 24-30 cakes.

Enjoy with your family and friends. As you take your first bite send your loving energy across the veil to loved ones.

If you make this receipe, why not take a photo of your cakes and send it to us at inspiritpodcast@gmail.com? Write to us and let us know how you celebrated All Hallow's eve this year.

OOPS.... IT'S THE BRAIN READY PODCAST

I incorrectly referred to the Brain Ready podcast in this week's show. It's not Brain Training as I inferred, which probably means I need more of this podcast to get my brain in shape! It's a great podcast, and you can check it out at http://www.brainready.com/

'Haunted' swing keeps rocking

AN out-of-control playground swing has spooked families and police in Argentina.
The swing rocks back and forwards without being touched - and anxious parents have decided the playground must be haunted.

Watch the YouTube video of the swing below:

In an attempt to explain the swing's mysterious movement, police called in physics professors. But even they have been unable to explain the why the swing keeps moving.

Residents claim the middle swing in a playground in the north-eastern town of Firmat can keep moving continuously for ten days before suddenly coming to a halt.

Teacher Maria de Silva Agustina said one child had nicknamed the area the "Blair Witch Playground".

"We believe it is haunted," she said.

Does your Brain need a tune-up?

I'll be talking about the Brain Ready podcast in a future episode, but I thought I'd add it to the blog page so you can check it out.

Brain Ready is a brain health website that has a series of resources to help keep diseases like alzheimers and dementia away.

According to the website, the brain starts its physical decline about the age of 20, and this has an impact on work, skills and quality of life.

By using things such as simple arithmetic (adding and subtracting small numbers) and guided visualisations to strengthen your spatial imagination the BrainCast podcast helps activate areas of your brain you wouldn't normally use on a day-to-day basis.

Visit the Brainready website at http://www.brainready.com/, and you'll find the podcast episodes on the home page...

You can also subscribe to the BrainCast podcast on iTunes.

Are you bathing in the new energy?

Many of you will now have begun to experience the effects of the new energy that has made its presence felt since the 1st of October.

Like me, you may have been witnessing transitions all around as the Divine has recalled many souls back to Spirit to witness these times from a vantage point of Light and Love. There have also been many new arrivals of beautiful souls who come to join us here as beacons of Light and to raise the frequency of the planet to a much finer level.

We farewell and celebrate the lives of those who have passed over the veil and welcome those who join us in their stead.

Transition is the key word for this month as we progress through the completion of the “9” onto the new path forward of the “1”.

I have been inundated with calls from Lightworkers who are seeking a new form of spiritual expression and who wish to fulfil their lifepath and find joy in their work and relationships.

Many are questioning themselves to find out what really makes their heart sing. Others are letting go of old relationships and jobs and seeking to follow their dreams. This is a time for everyone to recognise their deepest held desires and wishes and to understand that you can indeed live your dream.

Recognising what is truly important in your life is the first step.

Once you have identified the major people and things that bring you joy in life it becomes much easier to see how to let go of the dross and make your life shine.

The ancient alchemists strove to learn the secret of how to turn base metals into gold – now it is your turn to be your own alchemical master and change the negative and the heavy aspects of your life into a more positive and inspiring energy.

Do what makes your heart sing and all else will follow – health, happiness, love and abundance.

I do hope you have had the opportunity to listen to our new weekly podcasts and we invite you to comment on them via the blog or our phone line. Perhaps you would like to ask an ‘on air’ question or receive some survival evidence and communication from a loved one in Spirit. You may have an interesting story to relate or be a practitioner who is working in the healing arena. We welcome your feedback and comments because we want to design our shows around you, our listeners.

Keep listening to our podcast shows each week - in one of our next shows we are planning to cross live to me in Glastonbury – the Ancient Isle of Avalon when I visit the UK next month.

I send you all Love and Light,
Ruthie

Who said anything about homework?

What good is theory without putting it into practice right?

Each month Ruth and James will be offering a 'homework' assignment for you to do - so you can practice what we're talking about on the show. Sometimes it will be spiritual, sometimes it will be practical, sometimes it will be to advance your own skills and learning, sometimes it will benefit someone else.

The homework assignment is just a way of getting practically involved in what we talk about on the podcast. It's not hard, you can do it in a spare moment, and it's meant to be fun!

Completing a homework assignment gives a great sense of achievement, so why not share it with others. You can leave your feedback for others to read by leaving a comment on the blog, or leave us a message and share your success on the podcast feedback line +1 202 657-6205.

There's no winners, and no losers, and we certainly don't mark the homework either! I hear your collective sighs of relief from here! It's all about giving things a try, stretching yourself and having a go.

Your homework for this week you have two options to choose from: Tell Somebody OR Tell Us!

OPTION ONE - TELL SOMEBODY!
This one is really easy - go out and tell somebody about the podcast. If you like this show, you won't mind telling other people right? Spread the word, and help someone else along in their spiritual development.

or;

OPTION TWO - TELL US!
This is equally as easy... it's about trying out our feedback line. That's right, give us a call. In the US call +1 202 657-6205. Australian callers can dial (02) 8006-0180

Call us up, listen for the beep and just tell us who you are, where you come from and what you like about the show. If you've got a suggestion for the show, that would be great too. Whatever you want to tell us, we're all ears!

P.S. If we were marking this assignment you know you'd get extra points for doing both! You can tell somebody and tell us you told somebody if you like! Special mentions for people who do both assignments!

P.P.S. Remember, homework is not a chore! Have fun with it!

Episode 14 - October

It's a new beginning for the podcast as we embark on a new series of weekly programs. In future shows you'll begin to hear the new podcast formats take shape, and we'd love your feedback on the program.

At any time, if we mention something that piques your interest, or raises a question then send us some feedback either through a comment in the blog or by calling our feedback line on +1 (202) 657-6205. The voicemail service is open 24 hours a day.

So here's our October podcast. This month we speak to Melody R. Green about her book on sharing wisdom. We can't tell you the name of the book because that would be giving away the answer to the competition.

We're giving away a copy of Melody's book to those people who write in and tell us the name of her book, along with their email address and full name. We'll draw a winner at random towards the end of next month and we'll announce it on the In Spirit podcast website.

We also catch up with Kerry who is going to be giving us some feedback on a reading she had with Ruth in an earlier podcast. And of course we have more listener readings on the show as well.

For full details on the show and the music we played during this episode check out the show notes.

So here it is, enjoy the October Episode of In Spirit with Ruth Phillips.

Until next week (when we start our first weekly shows!)

A single rose

Angela writes:

Last time I came and saw you, you told me that I would receive a single rose or see a single rose and to know that my mother would be with me at that time. I have to be honest to say that I thought it was a bit vague the 'seeing a single rose' bit as they could be anywhere and I've never received a single rose in my life. Anyway, in May this year I attended an awards dinner with the company that I sell craft products for and I won two awards - as I walked up on to the stage to receive my award... you guessed it, I was given a single rose with my award. Incredible. I would walk past florists and think "no, that's obviously not right, single roses are everywhere" - but this was definitely a very very strong sign. Anyway, I thought you might like to know this as I'm sure you sometimes wonder if certain things have
happened.

Thank you so very much for this wonderful feedback - mainly because I know how much you really wanted and needed to hear from your darling mother. I am so pleased that your confirmation came as it did, as she was so proud of you when you won your awards. She was definitely there in spirit with you at that time and would have been the proud mother watching over you - just as she would have been if she was still with us here.

A thank you for every sneeze

Well here we are at the 18th September and I am happily having a wonderful clearing in the form of a head cold - lots of sneezes and tissues gone thorugh - but this is all proof that I am letting go of any left over states that needed to be cleared before we move into the energy of the "1" vibration. I have been saying lots of "thank you's" to the Universe and the Divine every time I sneeze for this opportunity to clear.

As we move towards the end of September I am clearing out my pantry, sorting out my wardrobe, donating things I no longer use to charity, and finishing up all those craft and needlework UFO's ( Un Finished Objects).

I am determined to make a clear path ahead for October when the first wave of the 1 vibration begins to be felt. As a "1" day born ( ie 10th of the month ) this is a significant year ahead for me - a new goal and new focus to set my sights on. I am SO excited.

On another note - for those of you reading this who live in London - I shall be venturing up there in mid November and will be available for a limited number of private sessions whilst there. If you are interested in having a one- on- one session then please email me info@ruthiephillips.com ( please put "London Visit" inthe subject line) and I'll contact you re timings etc.

I do hope to be able to meet up with some of our loyal podcast listeners, old clients and friends.

Blessings,
Ruthie

When we lose someone we love

I was listening to the latest episode of Mysterious Universe (www.mysteriousuniverse.org) hosted by trailblazing Aussie podcaster- Benjamin Grundy). He mentioned on his latest show about the passing of his grandfather. He mentioned the comfort his knowledge of the metaphysical was bringing him and that he was certain that wasn't all there was to life.

As he spoke it brought back memories of when my Grandmother passed in 2003. Even though we were separated physically by nearly 1,000 kilometres, I remember the exact time she passed and exactly where I was. She visited me as I was driving to work and said the words "Nana loves you", words she would always say to me as a child. I could hear the words as clearly as if she was sitting in the car seat next to me and I could feel the intense warmth of her hug.

It was a very brief and intense moment, and I wasn't quite sure what it meant. To be honest I thought it was a message for a friend who I did a reading for the previous day. I had no idea she had passed over until nearly 8 hours later that night, when I got a call from my mum to let me know she had passed.

This precious visit from my Grandmother was a firm reassurance to me that we are more than just our physical body... and for me her funeral was more a celebration that she was now free from the physical restrictions of her body and was on her way home.

Our thoughts are with you and your family Benjamin...

Bringing your whole self to work

If you're like me, then sometimes it can be really hard some days to drag yourself to work. Workplaces can be awkward, political and socially challenging at the best of times. Recently I found a great article on Beliefnet that hit home for me. It talked about leaving behind the old ideas that work is something that you go and do.

The ten tips enclosed in this article encourage us all to see work as an extension of your spiritual self: it is your teacher, a creative outlet and is a place for you to be present in each moment.

As we discover that work can be an extension of our spiritual self we re-claim those eight (or more) hours to live to the full. Hours that were previously lost to 'work'. It was an inspiring article for me, and hopefully it will be for you too.

San Francisco to host their own "Earth Hour"

The organisers at Light's Out San Francisco believe that good things happen in the dark, and in the dark is exactly where they hope all SF residents will be between 8-9pm on Saturday October 20th this year.

A similar successful campaign in Sydney Australia on 31st March this year saw more than 2 million residents and businesses switch-off lights for one-hour between 6-7pm. One hour of lights out meant that 24.86 tons of carbon dioxide were not released into the air – the equivalent of taking 48,613 cars off the road for one hour.

Before the event, organisers are encouraging all SF residents to install a donated compact fluorescent light bulb, and turn-off all unnecessary lighting.

Lights Out San Francisco is a grassroots organization based in San Francisco. The groups' steering committee consists of Bay Area residents – environmentalists, technologists, writers, and educators – who are passionate about fighting global warming and finding ways to take action locally.

Organisers are calling for volunteers to assist with awareness and other activities.

If you are s SF local and interested in helping out then you can find more information at the Lights Out San Francisco website.

Founder of Body Shop Anita Roddick dies

Today we say farewell to Anita Roddick, the founder of the Body Shop cosmetics store, who died yesterday after suffering a major brain haemorrage.

A leader well before her time, she was a trailblazing green businesswoman and the business she setup were literally decades ahead of the eco-friendly fashion.

She was - and is - an inspiring business pioneer who continually thought about the environment ahead of profits, and became highly profitable in the process.

How to listen to podcasts in your car

Louise writes:

"I am purchasing an ipod in the next month or so, so it will be a lot easier for me to find the time to download and listen to the recordings whilst I am driving, so weekly would be fine.I am not sure if you mentioned this on your show, but you can purchase an attachment with your iPod so that you can tune your ipod into the radio of your car by selecting a designated channel for your ipod. You can then listen to your iPod whilst you are driving (to work etc) just like another radio station. A lot of people do not know this and I know that it would allow people to listen to your shows a lot more often. They can set a time for themselves, say driving to work every Tuesday morning. Just some food for thought."

Thanks for the note Louise - sometimes I take technology for granted and make the wrong assumption that everyone is as familiar with the technology as me...

I listen to podcasts on my way to work in the car too. I download several different podcasts, so I can listen to a variety of topics every day of the week... it certainly makes my daily commute more interesting.

Here are some options specifically from the Apple iPod accessory range that allow people to tune-in their radio to the ipod. Essentially these little devices broadcast your signal to a specific channel on your FM radio.

Here's one that I particularly like because it suits most - if not all - of the ipods on the market today. The one thing to watch when buying an FM transmitter is "does it suit my particular ipod", as the ipod connectors do vary from model to model, depending on the age of your particular unit.

This unit is called the Griffin iTrip Auto and it is available from the Buy Mac Australian online store. (http://www.buymac.com.au/). This unit is a transmitter for all seasons incorporating the ipod nano and even the latest generation ipod videos (the status of connection with the brand new itouch ipod is unknown... read down for more information on this new device). It also recharges your unit through the cigarette adapter in your car while you listen. The unit retails for about AU$129 RRP but you can get it only for just AU$89 here.

Here's a list of some of the other devices available that do pretty much the same thing. If you buy one of these units, remember to check that it is compatible with your particular ipod.

HAVE YOU HEARD ABOUT THE NEW IPOD TOUCH?

This is a brand new unit, just released a couple of days ago. This new unit has the same features as the much acclaimed iPhone just without the phone component. To select music you simply touch the screen - no complicated buttons. The iPod touch also allows you to surf the web wirelessly, and download music and podcasts (including the In Spirit Podcast) from a new wireless iTunes store.

The units currently available are considered top of the line and are around the AU$415-AU$435 mark, and their storage capacity is a bit limited (the largest iTouch iPod is currently only 16GB, while the latest ipod video unit has 10 times this capacity). If you want the latest and greatest though, the new iTouch iPod is probably the way to go for you.

With this release Apple also announced that the iPod Nano has gone video as well, so the range is changing and it's worth checking out the latest products before you buy...

Thanks for the note Louise - and I hope some of this ipod techno info is of some use!

The Ninth month of the global 9 year

Well it is now the ninth month of our global 9 year (2007). The great completion. A wonderful time to finally get all those chores done that you have put off. Also a good time to re-evaluate your life on every level.

As you read this, humanity is being flooded with very powerful Light from the Celestial realms. New 5th dimensional particles and waves are bathing our planet between the Full Moon Eclipse of last month (28th August) and the New Moon Eclipse to come on September 11, 2007.

In addition to these vibrational influxes of energy we are also experiencing rare numerological influences which bring the powerful blessings of the 999. These blessings have already begun to flood the planet on 9/9/2007 and will do so throughout this month, and in particular on the 18th September and the 27th of September.

So what does all this mean to us in real terms? Well these amazing energies are prodding us all out of our comfort zones, pushing us to face situations we had previously avoided or deferred. We are being asked to look within at our core beliefs and to see whether they are really our beliefs or ones we have inherited from others along our life path.

This is a time that we are being shown a myriad of new possibilities for our lives. For many, this may mean breaking away from old relationships, friendships, marriages or business partnerships that no longer support our truth. For others it is perhaps a time to look at their work and whether they are doing what actually makes their heart sing. And for the Lightworkers among us, many of whom are reading these words; it is a clarion call for higher service to the Light. It may mean changing the way we work with others in our capacity as healers, seers or teachers. This could involve the construction of new pathways forward and new therapies to help our fellow beings find the blockages that prevent them from experiencing their own true joy.

With all these new energies we have instigated a fresh approach to our podcast and the appearance of our website. For those of you who have not as yet listened to one of our podcast episodes please take a few minutes to investigate via the podcast button on this page. Along with our monthly podcasts, we are now recording A Moment In Spirit which is a weekly vignette with ideas and interviews and follow up from our monthly shows. We welcome, and indeed encourage, listener feedback, questions and on-air readings so I would love to hear from you via the Blog, Voicemail or email.

So if you have some questions regarding what you have been experiencing of these new energies or would like to share some of your stories with our listeners, then please leave us a message, our voicemail lines are always open.

I rejoice in this moment in time, as it is such a gift to be here now and to be able to participate in these wondrous events.
I send you Blessings, Ruth

We've joined Libsyn!

I'm pleased to announce that we've just completed a migration of the In Spirit with Ruth Phillips podcast to Liberated Syndication (or libsyn for short). Libsyn are pioneers in effective podcast hosting solutions and their platform makes it easy for us to keep bringing you each new episode effortlessly.

We've changed our podcast feed to 'point' listeners to the files stored on libsyn podcast servers.

I guess the big question is why did we change?

Over the last twelve months our audience for the In Spirit Podcast has grown significantly. Up until recently we've hosted our podcast files in the same location as the podcast website. This worked well for a while until our audience grew and our web server started to buckle under the strain. As we start to plan for weekly shows we realised that our servers simply wouldn't cope with the load, and so we set about planning for a new hosting solution that would.

Will there be any interruption? As a listener we don't expect that you will notice any interruption to the service. You will see new play buttons on the blog and the podcast website. Look for the new grey-coloured Play Channel Now button.

If you hit a problem during this migration period, please let us know by leaving us a comment. Please keep giving us feedback about your experiences with the podcast after the migration.

Thanks again for tuning-in and we hope you'll like the changes. Please write to us with your feedback, concerns and suggestions because we love to hear them!

James

The Divinely Inspired Universe

I have just witnessed one of the most wondrous, magical and mystical full moon eclipses. All day in the lead up to the lunar eclipse I had a headache and a feeling of something impending.

As the moons light was blocked by the earth coming between it and the sun, the stillness could be felt here in Sydney. Then at the moment that that the moon was fully eclipsed was the instant that my headache disappeared.

The deep orange moon then hung like a orb that looked like one could reach out and pluck it from the heavens. The whole three dimensional appearance was so deeply spiritual and made me reflect on ages past when an event like this would have been a major spiritual event and would been seen as a sign or portent of great things.

My daughter and I celebrated the beautiful Goddess energy that we could feel with gentle singing, sounding our chimes and dancing in the orange glow. I can only imagine the majesty and awesome sight that was afforded those who live outside of the glow of the city. The orange against the inky blackness must have been a vision that would have appeared as though from a science fiction movie.

We live in a marvelous and divinely inspired Universe.

As we move towards a time of great change and a new way of being on the planet let's be reminded that we are wondrous souls and that our full spiritual potential is only just beginning to be realised.

I send you all Blessings,
Ruthie

Episode 12

Thanks for joining us again for our first podcast in nearly three months. The last time we recorded a podcast was actually in April and we've missed a few beats. There has been a reason though. I have moved our studio and the Medium Events business and Ruth has been busy with some new directions as well. Join us on the podcast this month to find out what's been happening, what's changed and what's stayed the same.

We answer your questions this month and cover quite a few things including how animals have an uncanny ability to sense psychically. Most of you have probably caught the news story about Oscar - that infamous nursing home cat that curls up to people just as they are about to pass over.

We also look at naming your child and the significance of that name and the power our names hold.

No readings this month but they will return to a regular schedule in our September episode. In the meantime if you've got a question then put your name down for a reading. Use our website contact page to request a reading.

We're working on a new program format, and we like to know what you enjoy about our program. Please write to us and let us know the things you tune-in for each month. Your feedback will help us shape our new In Spirit format when it comes online.

In the meantime enjoy our latest episode with new music from Erin Bode and David Martin - all courtesy of our friends at Ioda, the Independent Online Distribution Alliance who distribute some of the world's best upcoming artists. All the music from today's program can be found online at various online music stores. Please support the artists we play by purchasing their albums...

In the meantime we're busy getting things sorted out here - putting the finishing touches on the new studio. We look forward to joining you again on our next episode soon.
Until next time,James

July 2007 - Once In A Blue Moon...

Hello Everyone,

I have had some wonderful spiritually uplifting experiences in the past month and have witnessed outpourings of emotions of all kinds.

No doubt this has been connected with the Blue Moon and the King Tides at the end of June and beginning of this month. For those who are not sure what a Blue Moon is – it is when we have two full moons in one calendar month. The second one to occur in the month is called the Blue Moon. The occurrence of a Blue Moon is reasonably infrequent – hence the saying: ”Once in a Blue Moon”.

Here in Australia we have had major flooding and storms and I hear that the annual Glastonbury Festival in the UK was a wash out – gumboots de rigeur! These deluges are hardly surprising as the moon is all about emotion and water is the element that symbolises the emotions.

As we begin to settle ourselves after these events, and the clean- up occurs in many communities, it is important to reflect on how we ourselves have changed or have had a cleansing in this time. You may not have been personally affected by physical flooding but on some level you may have been inundated with emotional situations that have purged a state of mind or cleared the slate for a new beginning.

This is a wonderful opportunity to look at your life afresh. Just as after the rain, the world seems to sparkle, it is thus with our lives. With the cleansing effect of the outpouring of emotions and tears we have been given a complete spiritual wash – even behind the ears!

I encourage you to see your life now as a sparkling new day and create all that you desire on this fresh page.

Over the past few weeks I have been given so much positive feedback from clients, colleagues and visitors to the website regarding our podcast and the work that James and I have been doing. For all of your wonderful comments and encouragement I thank you from us both. Rest assured we have plans in place for future episodes with new information and content.

I invite you to contact us if there is a particular area of spiritual knowledge you would like me to speak about.

Sending you all many Blessings,
Ruth

June 2007

Hello Everyone,

I have had a busy couple of months, both professionally and personally, as I am sure many others of you have also experienced. These days the speed of our lives is extraordinary compared to those of your parents and grandparents. There always seems so much to do. These conditions are worldwide and are an indication of the speeding up of time and the higher vibratory energies with which we are all contending.

Taking time for yourself is very important right now. A few moments of quiet contemplation or meditation in the morning before your day begins, or a walk in nature to unwind at the end of a busy day will clear your energy field and allow you the space to connect with your personal spiritual support.

Recently I was blessed with the experience of visiting The Kimberly – for the non – Australians – this is a region in the far north of Australia that has the most dramatic and beautiful archaeology and scenery with rocks and earth that are some of the oldest on the planet. (70 millions years old I am told) The landscape and seas in this area are awe- inspiring and certainly speak to ones soul of the majesty of the Divine.

Exploring this area, I also found it wonderful to be able to connect into the powerful imagery of our native aborigines and their dreamtime beliefs through their rock art in the caves that I visited. The Bradshaw art and the Wandjina art hold many secrets that have now been all but lost – except to a few of the custodians of the old ways. Just being in the presence of this ancient cave art was a profoundly spiritual experience – the caves are their equivalent of Westminster Abbey or the Vatican.

No matter what our spiritual belief system, we are all connected and ONE and as sentients beings we share the most glorious planet. Let’s look after this, our home, and each other.

I send you Blessings,
Ruthie

Episode 9 - Creative Manifestation: Unlocking the Secret

Hello Everyone,

A short note to let you know that Episode 9 is out - just in the 'nick of time' before the end of the Month. The delay in this podcast was due to Ruth and I not being able to coordinate schedules to get into the studio before now.

In this episode we're exploring some of your questions, talking about Ruth's upcoming Creative Manifestation workshop, and we'll be doing live listener psychic readings on the podcast as well. Click the Listen Now link or click the title of this blog to download and play this episode.

I don't know whether you life is like this right now, but ours are incredibly busy at the moment.

The good news is that Episode 10 will be along about Mid March, which will feature more on Dreams... we'll be speaking to Dr Lachlan Hinds again, and we'll also be featuring more Numerology with our resident numerologist Gale Pickles.

For those of you who are interested in Ruth's workshops - Ruth has scheduled a Creative Manifestation workshop for Sydney, and is interested in holding workshops in other locations. If you are in a location other than Sydney, and would like to attend a workshop closer to you then please get in contact. If we get enough interest we will definitely hold the workshop in your location.

Before I let you go and download this February podcast, please remember that we LOVE your feedback, so do leave us a comment, or review us in a podcast directory. Why not be the first to review us on Apple iTunes? Reviews help us spread the message to others about the podcast, and tell people that we're worth listening to. Until next time, have a great month!

"The Secret"

Well, the new energy of this year has already made itself felt in a myriad of ways. Many are letting go now of their old issues, and starting to build a new way of relating to themselves and their loved ones. More and more people are looking at their lives and taking the responsibility to create all they desire, rather than being merely at the whim of the vagaries of situations and others around them.

Everyone has the ability to become a Master of their own destiny and many are demonstrating a desire to seek knowledge and the wisdom of the ancients to achieve this.

If you live in Australia you may have seen the movie: “The Secret” which is also available on DVD and Book form if you haven’t been able to catch it on television. It’s about creating your own reality and manifesting your desires, ranging from the simple and mundane, to the extraordinary and magical.

I have been teaching “Creative Manifestation” which is essentially this same information, looking at the Laws of Abundance and how you can create abundance in your own life. We are all magical beings and we all have access to the riches (material and spiritual) of this world.

There is no better time than now to realise that we create everything in our lives. If we understand how powerful we truly are then we can have so much fun on the journey.

“The Secret” is a process that is available to us and it only requires three simple steps.

I have been receiving lots of requests to hold more “Creative Manifestation” workshops. So many in fact, that I feel inspired to conduct more of these workshops in Sydney and in other locations around Australia.

If you are genuinely interested in attending one of these workshops in your capital city then please contact me via this website and we will notify you of dates and venues. Naturally, dates and times will need to be scheduled once we know numbers.

Life is speeding up and we are all being challenged to keep going with our daily lives in the middle of great Earth changes. The climate is now under intense scrutiny and we are being asked and asking our selves tough questions about how we can help our beautiful planet.

These are extraordinary times – keep that in mind as you delve deeply into the meaning of things happening around you now. You chose to be here, right now at this point in history.
Good to have you along for the company.

Blessings, Ruth

How do I download older episodes to my iPod?

Lesley writes:

I just bought an ipod. Is it possible to get the previous podcast episodes to put on the ipod? Itunes only has the latest episode.

James replies:

Thanks for the question Lesley. What you're telling me is partly correct, but it's only one half of what iTunes will do for you. By default, iTunes will only download the most recent episode automatically.

This is a feature of iTunes to ensure that a new ipod user doesn't download every episode of a podcast - this intentional feature protects users from downloading too much data and going over their broadband limits.

You can - however - download more than the most recent episode.

To download more episodes, visit the In Spirit with Ruth Phillips podcast page at iTunes and select Get Episode for each of the earlier episodes you wish to download.

Here's our podcast page on iTunes for downloading other episodes:
http://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewPodcast?id=158237606

More information on downloading is available under the Help menu in iTunes. This is what is explained when you search for downloading in iTunes Help:

To download a podcast from the iTunes Store:
1) Click iTunes Store.
2) Click Podcasts (below "Inside the iTunes Store"). Click a podcast to see a list of recent episodes.

When you find a podcast you want to download, do one of the following:
1) To download a single episode, click Get Episode.
2) To subscribe to a podcast, click Subscribe.
iTunes downloads the most recent episode. As new episodes become available, they are automatically downloaded to iTunes (when you are connected to the Internet).

Happy listening - and thanks for being a podcast subscriber Lesley!

Welcome to 2007!

Welcome to the new energy of a new year. And what a year it promises to be!

Already my phone lines and email inbox have been running hot with messages, questions and requests for assistance and guidance. While I recognise that many are undergoing huge shifts and change in their lives I am heartened to note that so many of you dear ones are progressing and growing spiritually through all these experiences. Well done you!

This is a global “9” year, in numerological terms (2+0+0+7= 9), and therefore implies a year of completion. September, being the ninth month of this “9” year, will be a significant time to finalise outstanding projects and clear the decks in preparation for the new energy that will begin to emerge.

In fact, September 18 has been heralded by some as a turning point in global consciousness – a pivotal moment that will move us forward into a different state of conscious awareness. Don’t expect bells and whistles and loud explosions, this energy will emerge gently and gradually over a period of time but for those who are sensitive, the world will feel so completely different to how it has felt before.

A word to “Sensitives” now… Many of you may have been feeling particularly “yucky”, low, depressed, sad or mournful just prior to the beginning of the New Year. This is a sure sign that you were “picking up” on the global energy field.

If you examined your own life you will have noticed that all was well for you and it really was not your stuff. Please be assured that you were not alone in these feelings or experiences – this was a phenomenon being experienced by Light Workers worldwide. Another symptom of sensitivity to the changes occurring now is sleeplessness.

After discussions with spiritual colleagues and friends throughout Australia, the UK, USA and New Zealand, there seem to be two groups of souls awake in the wee small hours – the 3 a.m. Club and the 5 a.m. Club. Which one are you a member of? Those of you experiencing this wakefulness will understand this exactly.

My advice is to just give in to it – as your energy shifts you actually need less sleep. Have a hot drink, and do something relaxing. Worrying is not going to fix this one – just know you are not alone.

James, my podcast producer and webmaster extraordinaire, and I are planning more exciting changes for this website this coming year. We will be continuing to record our podcasts and we thank you for all the positive and encouraging feedback we have received thus far.

Our next recording date In Spirit with Ruth Phillips is Monday 15 January, so if you would like to ask a question of a spiritual nature or receive communication from a loved one who has passed over, please contact us and include with your question your full name, all phone contact numbers and your country of residence (for time zone calculations) so we can contact you to arrange a time to call to speak to you personally and record you on our next exciting show.

I look forward to being in touch with you throughout this coming year.

Wishing you a happy and healthy 2007.
Ruthie.
