All Hallow's Eve cakes are easy to make and are a great alternative way to remember loved ones who have passed over at All Hallow's Eve. They also make a great alternative to sweets and chocolates for trick-or-treating. Here's the recipe and the ritual.

GATHER

½ cup (120 millilitres) vegetable oil
112 grms unsweetened baking chocolate (melted)
400 grms granulated sugar
4 large eggs
2 tspns vanilla extract
280 grams sifted plain flour
2 tspns baking powder
½ tspn salt
228 grams icing sugar (confectioners’ sugar)

Makes about 24-30 cakes.

RITUAL

Bless all your ingredients, utensils and equipment before you begin.

As you mix your ingredients you may wish to think of all your loved ones who have passed over and send them your love. Imbue your cakes with visualisations of happy times shared together.

Mix together the vegetable oil, chocolate and sugar in a large bowl.

Blend in the eggs, one at a time stirring between each addition. Add and mix in the vanilla.

In a separate bowl, mix the sifted flour, baking powder and salt. Stir the flour mixture into the oil mixture and allow to stand for at least 4 hours (or overnight).

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).

Spoon about 1 tablespoon of dough into a ball. Coat each ball in confectioners’ sugar, rolling until covered.

Place the balls about 5 centimetres apart on a greased or baking paper lined baking sheet. As you place the baking sheets in the oven – bless your creation and ask for these offerings to be seen by your loved ones in Spirit.

Bake for 10-12 minutes.

The cakes should be soft and the edges firm. Be careful not to overcook the cakes as they burn easily. Makes about 24-30 cakes.

Enjoy with your family and friends. As you take your first bite send your loving energy across the veil to loved ones.

If you make this receipe, why not take a photo of your cakes and send it to us at inspiritpodcast@gmail.com? Write to us and let us know how you celebrated All Hallow's eve this year.

OOPS.... IT'S THE BRAIN READY PODCAST

I incorrectly referred to the Brain Ready podcast in this week's show. It's not Brain Training as I inferred, which probably means I need more of this podcast to get my brain in shape! It's a great podcast, and you can check it out at http://www.brainready.com/

'Haunted' swing keeps rocking

AN out-of-control playground swing has spooked families and police in Argentina.
The swing rocks back and forwards without being touched - and anxious parents have decided the playground must be haunted.

Watch the YouTube video of the swing below:

In an attempt to explain the swing's mysterious movement, police called in physics professors. But even they have been unable to explain the why the swing keeps moving.

Residents claim the middle swing in a playground in the north-eastern town of Firmat can keep moving continuously for ten days before suddenly coming to a halt.

Teacher Maria de Silva Agustina said one child had nicknamed the area the "Blair Witch Playground".

"We believe it is haunted," she said.

Does your Brain need a tune-up?

I'll be talking about the Brain Ready podcast in a future episode, but I thought I'd add it to the blog page so you can check it out.

Brain Ready is a brain health website that has a series of resources to help keep diseases like alzheimers and dementia away.

According to the website, the brain starts its physical decline about the age of 20, and this has an impact on work, skills and quality of life.

By using things such as simple arithmetic (adding and subtracting small numbers) and guided visualisations to strengthen your spatial imagination the BrainCast podcast helps activate areas of your brain you wouldn't normally use on a day-to-day basis.

Visit the Brainready website at http://www.brainready.com/, and you'll find the podcast episodes on the home page...

You can also subscribe to the BrainCast podcast on iTunes.

Are you bathing in the new energy?

Many of you will now have begun to experience the effects of the new energy that has made its presence felt since the 1st of October.

Like me, you may have been witnessing transitions all around as the Divine has recalled many souls back to Spirit to witness these times from a vantage point of Light and Love. There have also been many new arrivals of beautiful souls who come to join us here as beacons of Light and to raise the frequency of the planet to a much finer level.

We farewell and celebrate the lives of those who have passed over the veil and welcome those who join us in their stead.

Transition is the key word for this month as we progress through the completion of the “9” onto the new path forward of the “1”.

I have been inundated with calls from Lightworkers who are seeking a new form of spiritual expression and who wish to fulfil their lifepath and find joy in their work and relationships.

Many are questioning themselves to find out what really makes their heart sing. Others are letting go of old relationships and jobs and seeking to follow their dreams. This is a time for everyone to recognise their deepest held desires and wishes and to understand that you can indeed live your dream.

Recognising what is truly important in your life is the first step.

Once you have identified the major people and things that bring you joy in life it becomes much easier to see how to let go of the dross and make your life shine.

The ancient alchemists strove to learn the secret of how to turn base metals into gold – now it is your turn to be your own alchemical master and change the negative and the heavy aspects of your life into a more positive and inspiring energy.

Do what makes your heart sing and all else will follow – health, happiness, love and abundance.

I do hope you have had the opportunity to listen to our new weekly podcasts and we invite you to comment on them via the blog or our phone line. Perhaps you would like to ask an ‘on air’ question or receive some survival evidence and communication from a loved one in Spirit. You may have an interesting story to relate or be a practitioner who is working in the healing arena. We welcome your feedback and comments because we want to design our shows around you, our listeners.

Keep listening to our podcast shows each week - in one of our next shows we are planning to cross live to me in Glastonbury – the Ancient Isle of Avalon when I visit the UK next month.

I send you all Love and Light,
Ruthie

Who said anything about homework?

What good is theory without putting it into practice right?

Each month Ruth and James will be offering a 'homework' assignment for you to do - so you can practice what we're talking about on the show. Sometimes it will be spiritual, sometimes it will be practical, sometimes it will be to advance your own skills and learning, sometimes it will benefit someone else.

The homework assignment is just a way of getting practically involved in what we talk about on the podcast. It's not hard, you can do it in a spare moment, and it's meant to be fun!

Completing a homework assignment gives a great sense of achievement, so why not share it with others. You can leave your feedback for others to read by leaving a comment on the blog, or leave us a message and share your success on the podcast feedback line +1 202 657-6205.

There's no winners, and no losers, and we certainly don't mark the homework either! I hear your collective sighs of relief from here! It's all about giving things a try, stretching yourself and having a go.

Your homework for this week you have two options to choose from: Tell Somebody OR Tell Us!

OPTION ONE - TELL SOMEBODY!
This one is really easy - go out and tell somebody about the podcast. If you like this show, you won't mind telling other people right? Spread the word, and help someone else along in their spiritual development.

or;

OPTION TWO - TELL US!
This is equally as easy... it's about trying out our feedback line. That's right, give us a call. In the US call +1 202 657-6205. Australian callers can dial (02) 8006-0180

Call us up, listen for the beep and just tell us who you are, where you come from and what you like about the show. If you've got a suggestion for the show, that would be great too. Whatever you want to tell us, we're all ears!

P.S. If we were marking this assignment you know you'd get extra points for doing both! You can tell somebody and tell us you told somebody if you like! Special mentions for people who do both assignments!

P.P.S. Remember, homework is not a chore! Have fun with it!
